Menus, Location Finder and Real Time Tracking

Little Caesars

Little Caesars is one of the leading fast food pizza chains in the nation, but they have yet to successfully incorporate a strong online or mobile presence into their brand.

I worked with two other designers to conceptually redesign the mobile app. Over a two-week period, we conducted in-depth field research and interviews and synthesized data.

We developed an interactive mobile prototype that would successfully promote the Little Caesars brand while also increasing customer engagement and fostering an overall better mobile app experience.

The Problem

One of Little Caesars’ biggest challenges is increasing customer engagement via digital platforms. Their website and mobile app offer the same things: location finders, menus, phone numbers, job opportunities, and customer feedback forms. Little Caesars is currently unwilling to incorporate online ordering or food delivery into their business so digital platforms do little to improve the user experience.

Our Solution

My team and I decided to focus on how Little Caesars brands itself—“Hot-N-Ready”. Although the company promises “hot and ready” pizzas at every location, research has shown that this is not always the case.  We decided to focus on a mobile app that would inform customers of when and where hot and ready pizza was actually available via a real time tracking device. In addition, we chose to incorporate a virtual rewards stamp system as incentive for customers to return and feel connected to Little Caesars.

The Process

My team collaborated and divided duties. I focused on our competitive, location, and business niche analyses, creating personas, 1/3 of the wireframes, interface design and putting together our interactive prototype.

The Redesign

Research heavily weighed on our executive decisions for the features we included in the redesign of the app. While we initially wanted to incorporate online ordering, surveys, business aspect research, comparative / competitive analyses, and the creation of personas showed us that at this point in time, it was more important to focus on Little Caesars brand, “HOT-N-Ready,” and making their pizza experience even more accurate and available to customers across the board.
